For this product spotlight, we are showcasing not one but two incredible meters – the Diehl SHARKY 774 and 775 models. While these two meters differ slightly in purpose, they share an incredible build quality and a multitude of convenient features for ultrasonic heat metering.

Diehl SHARKY 774

Diehl SHARKY 774 – Smaller and more sustainable

One of the primary distinguishing aspects of the SHARKY 774 is its incredibly compact design – with only 54mm height from the pipe centre, this meter is best suited for more compact heat stations – as it will be far easier to install and read.

The SHARKY 774 may be small, but its size in no way negatively effects it performance; with constantly high measuring rates, it is frequently used for measuring the energy consumption in heating applications for billing purposes.

Powered by AA-cells, the batteries of the SHARKY 774 contain 0.7g less lithium per piece than A-cells while still allowing for up to 12 years of battery life. This small, sustainable meter will take care of your ultrasonic metering needs for years to come.


Diehl SHARKY 775

Diehl SHARKY 775 – More functionality, more options

The SHARKY 775 is also used for billing purposes, but also has the capability of measuring the energy consumption in heating and bi-functional heating & cooling applications.

To complement this extended capability, the SHARKY 775 also has a wide rangeability of DN 15 qp 0.6 m³/h up to DN 100 qp 100 m³/h. It is highly regarded for its measuring accuracy, having been certified to EN 1434 Class 2.



Offering a wider range of communication options, this meter also included an integrated radio option with significantly improved radio performance. It also boasts highly efficient power consumption, resulting in an incredible 16 years of battery life. The SHARKY 775 is a flexible and dependable choice for heating and cooling applications.


Diehl SHARKY 774 & 775 – Durability and convenience

Both the SHARKY 774 and 775 share the advantages of ultrasonic technology, which has low pressure loss and is capable of measuring incredibly low flow rates while remaining insensitive to suspended particles.

The lack of moving parts also means that these meters are far less subject to wear and tear, saving a great deal in maintenance costs. In addition, their lightweight bodies are robust and non-wearing, being built to Diehl’s exacting standards.

The meters are designed to be mounted in any orientation, and their removable calculator means that the meter position will not affect readability – users can simply detach and read the simple LCD, making for a much more comfortable and convenient experience.

The 774 and 775 models of the SHARKY are AMR Smart, meaning that both have the capability of combining M-Bus or Wireless M-Bus communication modules with Diehl Metering’s AMR system technology. This allows for an enhanced transmission performance for more reliable long-distance remote meter reading.
