The top 5 gas meters available from MWA

Gas meters are used to measure the volume of gas that flows through a pipe, therefore determining just how much gas a property uses. MWA is a proud stockist of different gas meters, and our many years of industry experience stands us in excellent stead to provide you with the ideal meter for your applications.

Gas meters allow utility companies to accurately measure and bill residents and businesses for their natural gas usage. Without proper metering, billing would have to be estimated, which is not fair or transparent. By monitoring consumption rates and detecting potential leaks, gas meters can ensure the safe delivery of natural gas, helping to keep people safe.

Smart gas metering is revolutionising energy monitoring. Real-time data provides greater visibility into consumption patterns, enabling usage optimisation. As a leader in smart meter technology, MWA Technology empowers both households and businesses, with our intelligent meters delivering actionable insights for improved efficiency.

With MWA by your side, you can choose the meter that aligns with your needs. Our solutions drive informed decision-making, cost savings and sustainability. The future is data-driven – let us help you get there by providing a list of top 5 gas meters, which we stock.

Common CPT-01/CGT-02

The Common CPT-01 Quantometer is an entry-level positive displacement gas meter for basic gas measurement applications. Available in sizes 25-200mm, this meter is suitable for the measurement of natural gas, biogas and LPG, and can be installed vertically or horizontally.

The Common CGT-02 is a turbine gas meter designed for residential and light commercial applications. Ideal for natural gas, the CGT-02 has a die-cast aluminium body for corrosion resistance and long service life, and provides data logging and AMR accessories for remote monitoring.

Common CGR-FX

The Common CGR-FX is a rotary displacement gas meter designed for the mid-range residential market. Ideal for natural gas, biogas and LPG, this diaphragm-type meter is available in sizes of 40-100mm and uses an oscillating piston coupled to a multi-stack measuring chamber to accurately measure gas flow through 1/2” to 1” pipes.

Featuring two LF pulse outputs as standard, the CGR-FX has a flow range of 4.7m3/h and is suitable for single family homes, while its die-cast aluminium body is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and impact-resistant.

Metrix G

For domestic applications, the Metrix G4 top-viewing diaphragm gas meter is the perfect solution. Available in sizes 20-50mm, it has a compact design and easy-to-read display, perfectly suiting smaller scale residential usage up to 6m3/h. The G4 complies with EN1359 and MID standards and can be supplied with a pulse output for simple automated reading. With its robust design and precision metrology, the Metrix G range provides reliable, high-capacity gas flow measurement for demanding utility and industrial settings.

Aichi AS-WE

The Aichi AS-WE Series are transit-time ultrasonic flowmeters designed for custody-transfer level measurement of natural gas. Made from heavy-duty cast aluminium, this meter uses multiple ultrasonic sensors to determine the transit time difference of ultrasonic signals travelling upstream and downstream with the gas flow. The AS-WE Series of meters have a long battery life and comply with API, ISO, and AGA standards for performance and uncertainty, while it also has no pressure drop because the meter features no moving parts.

Actaris Itron Delta QD

Even though Actaris Itron Delta QD is number 5 of our top 5 gas meters, it is no less impressive. The a heavy-duty rotary displacement gas meter designed for custody transfer applications, combining robust construction with advanced metrology for precise fiscal measurement of natural gas at transmission pipelines, storage facilities, and other critical processes. The Delta QD comes in line sizes from 2″ to 12″ for high-capacity measurement needs, and features an aluminium alloy case for durability.
